I purchased the set screw block for a new build, and it fit perfectly on my new Ballistic Advantage .750 barrel. Don't know why others have had issues, maybe they received out of spec blocks, or used them on cheap barrels. Either way, I'm very happy with my purchase, as I always have been with any YHM product.

Yankee Hill "split" gas block 23.11.2017
This is the third Yankee Hill low profile gas block I will be installing on my next AR build with a 20" Wylde fluted barrel. The split design on the gas block makes it so easy to slip over the barrel and get it lined up correctly. No dimpling required or set screws digging into the barrel. Just tighten the screws and your done! Has worked perfectly on my last build with over 800 to 1000 rds. down the barrel. I've tried other styles of gas blocks but prefer this style plus it is a "low profile" gas block and fits inside many hand guards.

Other reviews stating that it will not fit are true. Will not fit any of my barrels. May it will fit Yankee Hill Barrels. Measured Inside Diameter at 0.7495, it should be 0.7505 to 0.7510. Disappointed, Yankee Hill makes some great products.

Have to send it back because it won't even seat all the way on my Rainier Mike Rock 18 inch SPR barrel. So then I tried it it on a spare Voodoo Innovations 16 inch government profile barrel and it won't fint on that barrel either! I can slide it on about half of the way down between the muzzle and gas port and it gets stuck. I doubt both barrels are out of spec.

I used this block on my last build. It fit perfectly on my 25-45 Sharps HBAR barrel from SRC. Gas ports lined up perfectly and set screwssnugged down good and tight. For those complaining about the fit, maybe your barrel is out of spec and not the block. Used this block under a slim handguard anx the clearance was great.

I used this Gas Block in a recent .300 BLK build. The unit fit perfectly and aligned quickly. Also functioned perfectly with a CMMG 16" Barrel with carbine length gas system. I have about 300 rounds through it and no problems! I really prefer the clamping design as it has not loosened or moved at all!

The YHM gas block is way out of spec. You will need to use a brake hone to take a lot of material off the ID in order to get this to fit a barrel. YHM really needs to do some QC on these. Luckily Brownell's has an amazing return policy.

I've used several of these on builds. I just tried to install one on a barrel and the set screws would not tighten down on the barrel. The taper on the tapped holes was not deep enough. Tried another gas block (identical part number) and the set screws tightened fine. Fortunately Brownells has the 100% satisfaction guarantee. This ones going back.

Attempted to install this on my bushmaster upper, went on about 1/3 of an inch then required excessive force to budge it. Definitely not the correct size. Maybe quality control needs to be upped at YHM as this is a recurring problem. Scratched gas block trying to remove it and now i cannot even get a refund. Try a different company is my advice.

This is defiantly a low profile gas block, very tiny, after seeing it in hand I wish I ordered a float tube with a smaller diameter. The fit and finish is great slipped right on my stag barrel and clamps down snugly with no worry about it walking around. I will surly use this block in future builds.

I attemped to install the as block on ar-stoner barrel and it would only go on about a quarter of an inch. After removing the gas block an checking the diameter of both the block and the barrel the gas block was made to small.
