Ultra-soft, space-age, polymerized, synthetic rubber pad cushions painful recoil and saves your shoulder. Polymer base plate flexes slightly to resist cracking and to fit less-than-perfect stocks. Customizable pads grind cleanly; oversized for the perfect fit on your rifle or shotgun.

Only for the brave!(13.04.2013)
Bought this as replacement for the badly fitted original pad on my Franchi precision S Falconet 12/76 Shotgun.
I'm very pleased with the final result of this new pad. It's a pleassure to shoot with and looks great with the wood. To grind it to a good close fit without messing up the stock was not easy. For everyone who are about to attempt to do this themselves READ ON!
First of -Do use the screws that comes with the pad. If you use countersunk screws then the plastic backing of the pad will crack!
To grind the pad I attached it to the gun and taped of the stock with 4 layers of durable plastic tape, the kind wich is often used for electrical applications. You will need a good stationary sander. I used a beltsander wich I mounted upside down on a workbench. Start with coarse grit sandpaper and light preassure. The sander will eat deep into the stock really fast if you are not on top of your game here. Also the plastic backing grinds away faster than the rubber because of the rubbers flexible nature. You can angle higher to compensate for this, so the rubber wont be wider than the stock at the end. Grind as close as you dare and check the tape regularly to see that you are not grinding into the stock. As you are getting closer switch to finer grit sandpaper. Finish the last 0,5mm by handsanding with block. I went to 800 or 1000 grit and finally shined up the plastic backing using autosol on a polishing wheel. The plastic got a high gloss fast. The polishing wheel will eat the rubber right of if the polishing wheel touches it so mask the rubber with tape. There are some good youtube videos on this aswell. God speed :)
I SWITCHED TO HOGUE FROM LIMBSAVER(19.06.2009)
THE MEDIUM PAD BY HOGUE IS BIGGER THAN THE LIMBSAVER MEDIUM AND ALLOWS GETTING THE RIGHT TOE ANGLE YOU WOULD'NT GET WITH A LIMBSAVER UNLESS YOU BOUGHT THE LARGE PAD WHICH MAKES FOR A LOT MORE GRINDING,THE RUBBER GRINDS BETTER ON THE HOGUE, THE LIMBSAVER IS TO SOFT, ESPECIALLY WHEN DOING THE TOE ANGLE.THE HOGUE IS LESS MONEY ALSO. THE DRAW BACK OF THE HOGUE IS THAT YOU HAVE TO DRILL OUT THE HOLES TO USE ON THE BROWNELLS PAD JIG BECAUSE THE JIG SCREWS ARE A LITTLE BIT BIGGER DIAMETER, ALSO YOU WILL HAVE TO GET SOME 8X32 SCREWS FOR MOUNTING ON A GRACO ADJ. PLATE, THE SCREWS PROVIDED BY GRACO ARE NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR THE HOGUE PAD,BUT FINE FOR THE LIMBSAVER.
Excellent fit and finish; easy to do(31.07.2010)
first time I tried doing one of these, for a friend's old mauser rifle- marked stock profile against base with a marger, began grinding with 80 grit and got close, switched to a 120 grit and got it real close then mounted to the stock and did final grind and fit with 150 grit on a hand held oscillating sander- came out real nice and friend was very pleased- has given me confidence to do more- thanks to earlier reviewer who's review helped me choose this pad-
Very nice to work with(11.12.2015)
This recoil pad Will grind vary fast and looks good. Have not been out to shoot this gun so not sure about recoil . But was installed on a auto 20 gauge not to concerned.
