4.5lbs Pull(29.12.2015)
Claims to reduce trigger pull 1.5lb, but from what starting trigger pull?
I already had bent my sear spring to pull 4.5lbs, I dropped this in and saw no improvement, the same pull or slightly higher pull. I would say it comes set for 4.5lb if you already polished your internals.
This is good if you are not comfortable bending your sear spring.
Great Idea, Great product(10.04.2016)
If you're not comfortable c working on the sear/hammer angle, and/or trying to adjust the sear leg of the sear spring, this is a good, safe (c caveats), and easy way to reduce trigger press. Note: I do not use these on carry 1911s unless (a) the trigger is otherwise OK but very heavy, and (b) I've worked the gun on the range enough times to be confident in it. For me, these are for primarily range use. Drops right in, of course. Use it in conjunction c a 18-20# mainspring, and be sure to replace your firing pin return spring c an extra power one. You may not need to do the latter, but it's good insurance just in case your gun might have a stock unit. Stone your trigger bar channels if you need to, Brownells sells the stone very inexpensively, as c everything else noted here. For the best trigger job, naturally, see your local gunsmith.....but this will do quite well in most cases and a lot cheaper. Be sure to test it fully, just in case. I think this product is the best thing since canned beer and peanut butter. Just sayin'.
Big improvement(26.11.2016)
Had this inserted in my Walther/Colt 1911 .22. Great improvement to trigger pull and feel. Well worth the money, even with gunsmith cost. Extremely happy with results
Excellent, easy upgrade!(03.02.2018)
Installed this and a 17lbs. main spring into a Ruger SR1911. Took a pound off the trigger pull weight. Not a two pound trigger that breaks like glass, but less than $20 and I installed them in half an hour. Watch a couple videos and anyone can do it.
Very satisfied with this spring(03.02.2018)
I installed this spring in conjunction with a 19.5 lb hammer spring and my, what a difference. I do not have a trigger pull guage, but my guess is that the two reduced the trigger pull by close to 2 lb and also reduced grittiness. My use is strictly for range/target shooting.
