Neat Tool(25.02.2010)
Great tool, I had about 1000 45ACP rounds loaded and I would occasionally have one that would keep the slide from going into full battery. Apparently, I had a few cast bullets that came out of one mould station that were a tad out of spec (20 yr old lee mould). This tool helped me sort through all that ammo in just a jiffy. I only wish they made them in more calibers.
One great tool!(04.11.2010)
If you reload, this thing is wonderful. I wish I had one of these years ago.
A must for remanufactured ammo(16.11.2014)
After having a remanufactured round jam in the chamber and prevent the the slide from going into battery on my 9mm 1911, I got this gage to check all my remanufactured ammo. Previously I had removed the barrel to do case checking. Comparing good vs bad rounds, it gave the same results as the barrel.
My only concern is that the aluminum may be subject to wear. After a couple thousand rounds, I can see some wear on the corner of the machined hole. But it will probably provide years of good service. Having all four major handgun calibers is convenient and it is not too bad doing the rounds one at a time.
So far I have weeded out about 75 rounds out of 2500 of 9mm. The bad rounds range from won't fit, but nothing visibly wrong, to crimped brass and improperly seated bullets. Had better luck with .45, checked about 500 rounds and all were good.
