Limited Applications(02.02.2012)
This may be a great tool if you happen to have the specific brand AK that it is suited for. The problem is it will not work on a Saiga, or Arsenal, and I'm sure other brands/types of AKs. It was a total waste of my money. I'm very disappointed since I had planned to begin my project today, but will have to wait until I can find another way to safely remove the sight leaf on my Saiga and Arsenal AKs. I expected more from Brownells.

After a little more research and education on how to use this tool i have to re- rate it.

Works Great As Well On The M64 RPK!(13.05.2014)
My M64 RPK from Century came with a slightly buggered rear sight leaf, so I replaced it with a N.O.S. Soviet RPK rear sight leaf. The Campy Bob Sight Tool made it quick and easy.
IMPORTANT TIP: The Gas Tube/Upper Hand Guard Assembly needs to be removed so that you have enough room for your hand to manuver the tool, and most importantly, the locking lever for the Upper Hand Guard/Gas Tube Assembly has to be free to move the attached pressure wedge that holds down on the back/top of the gas-tube, moved out of the way, so that the lower hook part of the tool can fit under the front cross member of the rear sight assembly.
The tool works brilliantly, like an old-school beer can opener before even pull tabs, which would hold under the lip/edge of the top of the can, then pivot from that hold-point and press down cutting an opening into the top of the can.
With the Campy Bob Tool positioned with the hook under the forward cross member of the rear sight, have the rear sight leaf in a vertical position, and as you engage the front tab of the LEAF SPRING that presses up on the sight from below, begin pulling up on the rear of the tool and pressing down on the top/front of the tool (like a beer-can opener in progress)allowing the sight itself to fall foward as you apply more pressure to the spring, then you'll be able to remove the old sight out the tracks to the rear, and slide the new sight forward into the tracks, hold it vertical and begin releasing pressure from the tool, allowing the leaf spring below to engage and press the sight fully home into the tops of it's holes.
Once you've done it, it all becomes so clear!
Does not fit(08.02.2016)
I have an IO AK47 and a Saiga AK74. This tool will not fit to leverage sight off of spring. Will need to find another way to do it with these rifles.
Works as advertised, if...(30.07.2016)
This tool works as advertised, IF you understand how to hook the lower hook and use it as a fulcrum lever to push down on the leaf spring. As another reviewer explained, the image of the old school can opener is a good example of how this tool works. The old openers that punched a triangular hole in the beer can, that is... You have to remove the gas tube first & foremost, that is a must in order to use this tool properly!! The lower hook on the tool looks to be too short to hook into the gas tube channel, but this is the point at which you need push hard to compress the leaf spring downward. This will allow the hook part of the tool to move more inside the gas tube channel and the hook will actually catch the channel of the gas tube. After that, it's as simple as it gets and you just push down on the leaf spring using the tool as a fulcrum. I give this tool four stars as it works as advertised, but I wish it came with some kind of instructions that included pictures so one can actually see how it works. The tool just came in a heat sealed plastic bag, and that's it. Hope this review helps out everyone!!
