Drop-In Insert Temporarily Reduces Mag Capacity

Hard polymer insert snaps into the floorplate to limit capacity for sporting or hunting applications. Installs easily without tools and requires no permanent alteration of the magazine. Will not make a banned magazine legal, as capacity reduction is not permanent. Minus 5 reduces capacity by 5 rounds.

SPECS: Reinforced molded hard polymer, black. Sold in paks of 3. Fits Magpul Gen M3 PMAGs only. 5.56 models fit Gen M3 PMAGs for rifles chambered in 5.56x45 NATO and .223 Rem. 5.56 Minus 5 fits 10-, 20- and 30-rd mags. These do not fit Gen 3 20 round.

Inserto Drop-In che Riduce Temporaneamente la Capacità del Caricatore

Si installa facilmente senza attrezzi e non richiede alcuna modifica permanente del caricatore. Non renderà legale un caricatore vietato, poiché la riduzione della capacità non è permanente. Minus 5 riduce la capacità di 5 colpi.

SPECS: Polimero rigido rinforzato, nero. Venduto in confezioni da 3. Si adatta solo ai Magpul Gen M3 PMAG. I modelli 5.56 si adattano ai PMAG Gen M3 per fucili camerati in 5.56x45 NATO e .223 Rem. 5.56 Minus 5 si adatta a caricatori da 10-, 20- e 30 colpi. Questi non si adattano al Gen 3 da 20 colpi.

We purchased several of these minus 5 round limiters as well as Pmag 10 round gen3 mags for customers who were planning to hunt with their rifles and needed to limit their mags to 5 rounds to be legal for hunting. These devices work like a plug in your shotgun to reduce the mag capacity, in this case by 5 rounds. We had rifles chambered in .223/5.56 and 300 Blackout. In both cases after installing the limiters we found the magazines would not seat fully with 5 rounds loaded in the magazine. Function with 4 rounds was flawless however. For game in North America 4 rounds should be sufficient for anyone who has practiced with their rifle, but if you think you need more, then load 4 rounds, chamber 1 and add another to the magazine. These are good devices and we are pleased to see Brownells now carries them for the 7.62 Pmag. We have customers waiting for them.

-6 round limiter not -5 (14.01.2015)

Should be marketed as a sometimes -5 sometimes -6 limiter. per magpul customer support, this will barely allow 5 rounds into the magazine (if you start with a 10 round mag), and the magazine will not be able to be inserted with the bolt closed. Would have been nice to know that before hand.

Now one of the two mags I installed these in worked as you would expect... 5 rounds, can be inserted on closed bolt, dust cover can be installed.

The other, only works properly with 4 rounds. this is, according to magpul customer support, how it is supposed to work.

An inexpensive insurance policy (26.08.2016)

Will always allow 5 rounds in magazine, but sometimes will not allow Magazine to be seat and you have to remove one for magazine to seat. If it only allows 4 rounds, chamber one and then top off magazine. Either way you can keep rifle legal when hunting weather 3 or 5 rounds in local area.

DO NOT LOAD 5 ROUNDS (07.11.2016)

Using this limiter in a 10 round magazine, DO NOT load 5 rounds into the magazine. Doing so will not allow the magazine to seat properly in the magwell with the bolt closed and the top round may not feed properly. If you load 4 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, it will work perfectly. MAGPUL needs to place a notice on the packaging to this effect.
