Excellent Kit(12.07.2009)
This kit should be the center piece of any action job for these rifles. The trigger spring was only lightly contoured at the trigger contact area, and all others were installed unchanged. Trigger pull was reduced from 5lbs 11oz to 2lbs 9oz. Modest amounts of stone work on friction points and this kit make for a great action job.
Nice and easy to instal in the Rossi 92(26.01.2010)
This spring kit really smothered out the action. One big benefit is replacing the ejector spring so that it will eject the empty cases at my feet, instead of the next county over, Know I can find my empty case so I can reload them.
to weak(06.04.2010)
Put this kit in two rifles, and had the same problem with both. the hammer spring is to weak to get a consistent firing. you may have to drop the hammer 4-5 times before it will fire a round. They produce a light primer strick, but not enough to fire a round consistently.
Good Kit and Worth the Money.(15.04.2010)
I was very pleased with the outcome after installation. It really smoothed up the action on my rossi 92 and I am very pleased with the trigger pull. Another great benefit is the ejector spring drops the cases at your feet where you can find them. However, be prepared for a challenge when assembling the ejector!!
BUY THIS KIT(13.12.2010)
best thing you can buy for your rossi 92. it is just amazing. If you get this you should get the rossi 92 gunsmithing dvd from [@] it realy turns this great gun for the money into just an amazing firearm
You'll regret not installing it(05.04.2011)
It's like an entirely different rifle. Smoothed out the action completely. Runs like a hot knife through melted butter. I don't think I have ever spent better money on an improvement for a gun than the [$] I paid for this kit. Easy, straight forward switch. Nice YouTube video on how to do it, which is how I found out about this kit. The Lever spring could stand to be a little stiffer. I may put the stock one back in. A good jar to the rifle can release the lever. Other than that...It's Beautiful! My Vaquero is next.
Cheapest fix on the market(28.05.2011)
Changed my .357 from a knuckle-banger to a sweet-shooter. The bolt was almost impossible to reassemble before the fix--the stock ejector spring is a BEAST! Replacing it and the hammer spring made it into a slick shooter. The hammer-spring is a two-person job--one to pull the spring down and one to insert a paper-clip into the hole in the guide. Reassembling the bolt and hooking the lever into it is made alot easier if you put a spent shell onto the face of the bolt just before you slide it into battery. Then you can move it back and forth to get the lever into it without the ejector coming apart on you...
Works great in my 357 Rossi Ranch Hand(24.02.2013)
It was kind of a pain to install the hammer spring (I needed a vice and a friend) but other than that the installation was intuitive and the results are amazing.
I installed it in my Rossi Ranch Hand in 357 and it is amazing. The only spring I couldn't use was the little spring that goes in the lever retainer plunger. The kit's spring was too week for to hold the large loop lever closed on the Ranch Hand, so I kept the factory spring in there. (It looks like the kit's spring was designed for the smaller/lighter levers on the normal Rossi lever actions; I don't blame the kit for my weird application.)
A MUST for Rossi .357/.38 Special rifles(10.03.2013)
The only thing I question in this kit is the ejector spring. I use a different ejector spring bought from another vendor but the rest of the springs I totally use. This kit will take you from a creepy, sluggish trigger to one crisp puppy. So good I've got two more Rossi's waiting for these to come in. Will surely buy and recommend.
So Worth it!(09.07.2013)
Installed this spring kit on a Rossi 92, 44 mag. What a difference. The action is now much smoother and trigger pull is noticeably smoother and lighter also. Installation is pretty straightforward, except the Ejector Spring. Use a dummy round to hold the ejector in place and reassembly will go much easier.
Not worth the time or money(16.11.2013)
The hammer or main spring was the only thing that fit and helped a little. The ejector spring was too long and folded onto itself and bound the ejector so that it would not retract into the home slot position, I cut the spring shorter, but it still would bind the ejector rod, so I gave up after a couple of hours trying to make it work and installed the original spring. Just not worth the trouble or money, maybe the wrong spring was sent in the kit???????
Would be 5 stars except...(08.02.2014)
Every thing works great except the ejector spring is WAY TOO LONG. If not for this I would give it 5 stars.
I cut the one that came with the kit down so that with the spacer it was the same length as the ejector rod. So far works in my wife's Rossi 92
Combined with the Tips from Nate Kiowa Jones it is like shooting a totally different gun.
Dissappointed(22.02.2014)
Hammer spring not strong enough to consistently ignite primers. Ejector spring 2x the length of stock spring, couldn't figure out how to get it to stay in. Trigger spring is OK but the same result could be achieved with shims. Lever spring doesn't make much difference for me. Kit not worth all the hype in MHO.
Kit is in use on five Rossi 92s(13.04.2018)
I own Rossi 92s chambered in 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 45 Colt, 454 Casull, and 480 Ruger. All are of Braztech manufacture since 2011. I found the trigger pull awful for my hunting needs and decided to try the Gunslinger on one rifle. The kit made an incredible difference, so I installed a kit on all five rifles. Trigger pull is light, about 2½ pounds, but it goes off went you want it to and not before without focusing more on the pull rather than the target.
Concerning the instances of light hammer strikes, be sure you completely tear down your Rossi so that you can brush and flush all the packing grease out of everything including the parts within the bolt. I believe it is not grease, rather Alox, and it will harden over time. The shipping coating is responsible for a lot of issues in rifles that have not been disassembled to remove it.
Compressing the ejector spring can be done quite easily with waxed dental floss. Google: rossi ejector spring dental floss
