Replacement stock turns your 10/22® into a realistic looking stand-in for an M1 carbine without altering any part of the action. Easy drop-in fit for any 10/22® action with the standard 18½" tapered barrel. Original M1 stock parts were used to make steel patterns for automated precision lathes that cut raw European beechwood blanks into finished stocks in the unmistakable M1 shape, including the cutout in the butt for the original GI oiler/sling retainer (not included). After milling, every stock is inspected for flaws by test fitting to a 10/22 barreled action before sanding with 300-grit media for an ultra-smooth surface. USGI model is stained to replicate the dark red-brown of the original USGI tung oil finish before application of a protective polyurethane sealer. The 10/22 M1 Carbine Stock Conversion Kit now includes two upper handguards, one with a cutout for the factory rear sight, and one without for those who use a M1 Carbine style rear sight or scope.

excellent/perfect fit. barreled action dropped right in for a nice, tight fit. took all of five minutes to perform the conversion. rifle functions perfectly in stock without fitting. not sure what these other guys are doing. looks really neat, rifle has great heft. highly recommend!

Need Big Hands for this one. 17.07.2015
This is a Nice Rifle Stock for a person with a Short LOP.
HOWEVER the Pistol Grip was So Thick that the Pistol Grip was made for a person with Really Large Hands. Soooo We had to Sand and Sand and Sand to get it Downsized for Our Smaller Hands. Then we Purchased Birchwood Casey Kit to Re Stain the Stock. It was a Water Based Stain and it would not Take in some parts of the Stock. After Two Tries we had to go Purchase some Oil Base Stain and that Solved our Problem. Now we may have to do a little Fitting to get the Top Strap piece of wood to sit down without pinching the Barrel. Not sure about that yet.

Perfect fit, love the M-1 look & Feel.
The only disappoinment was that the sling & oiler I have is too fat for the sling cut-out. I ended up using a 1/4" metal dowel instead of the oiler.

Ordered the M1 stock and sling and oiler. Both were flawless. Had no trouble, Ruger action dropped in nicely and is a snug fit, no fitting required.

Cool but needs improved 27.05.2012
This is a cool looking stock, but it needs some improvements. The overall fit was ok, but not perfect. When you try to install the screw into the lug through the bottom, the hole is not aligned. It also seems that the stock is too tall and the trigger guard and safety do not protrude far enough down and this brings me to my next issue. When switching the safety, it came in contact with the wood and scratched it. This seems to be made of a softer wood because after shooting it just once the stock already has dents and dings, and this is not from being rough with it. It is a cool concept overall but the measurements need to be reevaluated and it needs to be made from a harder wood.

Stock looks ok, but finish is thin spray on dark stain and did not reach into the sling cutouts, it also scratches easily. Receiver fits loosely and stock inletting is not deep enough for safety button to work correctly. Handguard shape is not symetric and buttplate screws were rusty. Also bought the blonde color stock which was MUCH MUCH MUCH better in fit and finish, and had a different type of foward sling swivel. I don't mind the extra work, when done it'll look and function fine.

This stock makes your ruger 1022 look like an M-1 carbine, is made of quality materials and is very easy to install on your gun. Use with military look sights and m-1 carbine sling and oiler and you have a nice handling great looking gun.

I thought this was Made In The USA but I was wrong. Overall this is a good product and for the price hard to beat, but, the fit of the buttplate to my stock was very noticeably crooked. The inletting of the rear of the stock where the buttplate fits was uneven and required some reshaping and redrilling of the upper buttplate screwhole in order to straighten it up.

I originally wanted this stock to make my plain jane 10/22 look more interesting. I wasn't expecting much more than an improved profile. As it turns out the stock is very nicely made. The birch has a good feel, the buttplate and barrel band are made of metal (instead of the plastic on my stock 10/22), and the fit and finish are exemplary for this price.

I put mine together with no problems. The only regret I had was not buying the sling and oiler at the same time. It's wearing it now and looks fantastic..Get the sights also for sure. Old Vets come by to see and shoot it,what a blast.

Drop in Fit, shoulders just like an M1 Carbine. I now use this for practice before transitioning to its bigger brother which allows me cheaper practice. Sling and Oiler fit just as on the GI Carbine. Took me all of 5 minutes to install with a multitool in camp.
