Really "shines" when other sights are useless. No switch to turn on, no batteries to wear out. Both front and rear blades have their own green tritium gas light source and provide a green/green , 3-dot sight picture. Some models also available in green/yellow and green/orange. The front sight is always green for contrast with the rear sight. Unaffected by weather, gun solvents or oils. Used by NATO, U.S., and Israeli armies. Also ideal for law enforcement and others requiring accuracy in low-light conditions. Contains both front and rear sights. Rear sights either replace the original rear entirely or, as on S&W revolvers, a new rear leaf, screw and nut are provided. Front sights either replace the original (1911 Auto); slip over and are pinned to the original blade (most other autos); or replace the factory colored insert (S&W Autos). Factory warranty on TRU-DOT sights to the original purchaser for 12 years.

I never write reviews about purchases, but this one was worth it. These sights out perform the factory sights of the Ruger Gp100 ten fold. At first I thought something was wrong with the gun, because it was shooting all over the target, especially low and to the left and as far as i adjusted the sights, it would not correct the problem. Not to mention, the factory sights are very cheaply made and will move side to side just by gently wiggling them. I finally decided to chance it and order a pair of these tru dot sights. I was blown away how well these sights perform compared to the factory sights. Without even adjusting for elevation or windage, i was hitting bullseyes every single shot, and thats no joke. these sights turned my Ruger gp100 into a 20 yard flyswatter. the profile and style of tru dot sights are in they're own class as well. They sit lower and give the gun a much better looking side-profile. I have no complaints about these sights whatsoever, and would recommend them to anyone who wants to dramatically increase their handgun's performance. Brownells also are awesome. I ordered these sights on a friday afternoon,and got them in the mail monday, and was at the shooting range that afternoon, awesome!

Best sight Choice for Redhawk (18.09.2012)

These are amazing, high quality, high percision sights, but take a little work to fit the Redhawk revolver. I first tryed the HiViz front sight to replace the factory ramp - nice but designed and built too high. The Trudot seemed pricey but proving to be well worth it. Dots are White in daylight and bright green in low light. The light viles are tiny and precision set and protected - makes for a clear pin-point dot on target - not sloppy or glaring like a some fiber optic blades. After reading other reviews, I expected to have to file a bit on the front sight to fit the spring loaded dovetail front ruger mount. Had to file more than expected in three places - rear of sight base plate, on the bottom of the catch foot and under the front dot blade...all to eventually seat the sight properly. Also, had to pull the factory rear sight pin BEFORE able to fully unscrew the elevation adjusting screw past its limit stops. Take your time to file and check the fit often!
Especially like the low profile and 'sit' on the revolver...think these will be dead on target and will provide plenty of windage and elevation adjustment. Plus, 12 years of usable light warranty!
