Side mounting keeps the triggerguard out where you can grab it faster. Gun lays flat against the body, rides easier on your shoulder. Installs underneath the magazine cap; ball detent locks mount in place. Accepts up to 1-¼" wide slings.

great addition to your gun!(30.06.2011)
Installed easily, locked firmly in place, and provides a sturdy mount for your sling. recommended for 3 point slings on more combat-oriented shotguns, but equally at place on a field gun. parkerization matches the rest of my weapon, and is evenly distributed. a must for the tactical minded shooter, home defense shooter, or anyone looking to mount a sling on the weapon.
Compromised Bbl Retention(16.08.2012)
They're made nicely. However, we ditched these sling mounts because they fit between the mag cap and the barrel's magazine ring. These mounts are thick enough to take up some of the threading, leaving only 2-3 threads of the magazine tube to hold the barrel in place. Many of our sworn shotgunners just don't take the time to crank that mag cap down nice and tight, so we had barrels come loose during range - and literally fall off the gun.
We went to a swivel system that mounts to an eyelet on the endcap instead.
Sturdy but too thick (25.04.2017)
This appears to be machined from steel and is very well made, but it is a little too thick then is really needed. This could be a detriment to properly toghtening down the barrel as it takes up a lot of of barrel threads so it is possible the barrel nut could loosen up and fall off. If they reduced the thickness of this mount in half then it would be much better. I was going to mount it on my 870 tactical.
