Specialized pliers allow Glock owners to remove the base pad from factory magazines without gouging or cracking the plastic. Small crimping tips contact the magazine precisely above the locking tabs. Hardened, steel handles feature the correct geometric curvature to prevent over-compression of the magazine sidewalls. Once compressed, simply slide off the base pad. Rubber sleeves provide a positive grip. Wear eye protection when removing magazine base pads.
SPECS: Steel, black finish. 6" (15.2cm) long.

Don't buy it(20.10.2009)
This thing is junk. Perhaps I am using it incorrectly, but I doubt it. I've experimented with it many times but I still haven't been able to find a way to get it to help with removing the magazine floor plate. To top it off, the plastic on the handles is always slipping off and needs to be adjusted. Save your money. Don't buy this.
Good enough for me(03.12.2009)
I have used this product on over 30 different Glock magazines. Using it for maintenance purposes or just changing out base plates. Rubber handle slips off, but glue fixes that. The trick to using these is to grab the mag with this tool, then with a punch, push down on internals of mag, then compress with tool. Regular pliers will work for doing this, but will scratch the magazines up.
Don't waste your money(15.07.2010)
Don't waste your money on this. Nice concept, but using the Glock tool (or similar) and pinching in on the mag body with your fingers is much, much easier than fumbling with this tool.
It is, what it is......A Tool,(07.08.2010)
When I attended the Glock Armorer's Course, I was taught to take a pin punch and quickly and sharply push the magazine insert down into the mag and it will stay down. (right hand dexterity) Hold the mag (inverted)in your left hand with your thumb on the rear of the mag base pad. With the mag tool in r-hand tool tips on the mag tabs, compress only enough and push with left thumb on pad. Continue to slowly increase pressure with tool and continue to push with thumb until base pad slides forward. I disassemble them that way, and I have NO COMPLAINT, NO DAMAGE. The tool works well. As far as the handles plastic sleeves,as someone else said, glue them.
Waste of money!(24.03.2011)
This tool mars mag sides by not being padded in the jaws. Better results can be realized by using the glock tool on the floorplate button and tapping the rear ofthe floorplate with a rubber mallet!!!
Worth the $$$(09.12.2012)
Makes a "3 handed" job quick and easy. Base plates just slide right off. No marking to mag body if you watch what you are doing. Don't know why I did not get one sooner.. Yes, the rubber grips need a shot of glue to stay in place. Was a 2 sec fix. For the low price, it's worth it to have one, even if you only use it a few times a year to clean your mags..
No use(13.12.2012)
Did not work well. Waste.
Laughably useless.(19.07.2014)
Totally ineffective for a human with two hands. Instead, buy the GTUL. Used in a vise, the GTUL is MARGINALLY useful. This tool is nicely made, I might find another use for it, but as a Glock magazine tool it is of no value.
Works as intended(27.08.2014)
I don't understand how anyone would have a problem using this tool.
Firmly punch the insert down, it will roll over the spring into the front of the mag. Squeeze the sides of the mag under the locking tabs with the tool, slide the base plate off. Couldn't be easier.
For the price I expected a higher quality tool, so it loses a star.
Worth it's weight in scrap metal(26.12.2015)
Totally useless. Worth about half its weight in scrap metal. I can't believe Brownells even sells such a useless piece of junk. Save your money and buy a cheap gooseneck plier.
nice concept but bad tool(23.02.2016)
Good concept but really very very cheaply made. Sending back for credit.
Not recommended.
Yes, Right Tool for the Job(16.05.2016)
Hi, I had problems with Glock magazine take down. This was do to old age, arthritis, etc. This tool worked as advertised. Just line up the "nubs" on the magazine body and gently squeeze, works like a charm. Also works on the new Glock 43 magazines.
with some know how works great(25.08.2016)
If you know how to use it, it works great. If you squeeze the mag in just the right place with a punch in the base plat it works. I would recomend puting a a bit of supper glue on the grips to get them to stay on.
Glock Magazine Tool(04.09.2016)
I put off getting this tool for a long time because of the price but broke down and got one. They work and are easy to use. The Glock owner's guide says you can pinch the magazines but I couldn't without this tool. At last I can clean these 25 year old mags.
Waste of money(28.02.2017)
Cheap junk, stay away from.
Overpriced(06.10.2018)
It will make removing the base plate off of a Glock magazine easier, but for the price I would expect a higher quality product. I feel this should be at a $10.00 - $12.00 price point.
